Mission Statement

The mission of Mt.Sinai Baptist Food pantry is to provide healthy nutritous food to the hungry individuals and families in North Chicago

Description

We at Mt.Sinai Baptist Church Food pantry have been providing food assistance to residents of North Chicago since 1993. Our distributions are on Tuesdays from 12:00pm- 2:00pm and clients can visit once a month or more if needed to receive approximately 4 days’ worth of food. In the past month we have served 300 families; this is an increase of 15% over last year. We are seeing new families every week and by providing food at no cost, we can help these families use their limited resources to meet their rent or mortgage payments and fill their cars with gas. Each month we distribute between 5,000 and 6,000 pounds of food. We currently receive food donations from individuals, community food drives
and grocery stores, and much of our food comes from the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
