Mission Statement

Our mission is to engage all segments of our community: neighborhood associations, businesses, city officials, students and residents in a common effort to prevent litter, beautify our city and reduce waste. Through educational activities, public conversations and community events we will change the way citizens think about litter and their role in caring for community.

Description

Our strategy is to mobilize our community to participate in our clean-up events. By getting more people to participate we will raise their consciousness regarding litter. We will at the same time promote the practice of people working together, neighbor helping neighbor.

Keep Springfield Beautiful offer two types of volunteer opportunities service volunteers who actually participate in our events and policy volunteers who participate at an organizational level planning events and helping us develop as an organization.

Service Volunteers: Participate in our events such as litter clean-ups or graffiti removal efforts. Your commitment is usually limited a several hours to a day or two depending on you availability.

Policy Volunteers: Include your participation on the board or as a member of our logistics team who actual plan and orchestrate the events. The policy volunteer's commitment is more involved. The policy volunteer may have to attend meetings on a more regular basis.
