Mission Statement
To promote the positive involvement of fathers and to educate youth about responsible parenting
Description
Dads Make a Difference trains high school-age teens, male and female, along with their adult advisors from schools, community agencies, and faith-based organizations statewide in Minnesota to teach the 4-lesson Dads Make a Difference curriculum to middle school-age youth in similar settings. The curriculum covers the importance of fathers in families, the responsibilities of being a parent, and the importance of making responsible decisions about risky behavior so they don't become parents too soon. DMAD uses a youth-teaching-youth or peer education model. Teen teachers build leadership and life skills that are developed and enhanced through the process of teaching younger kids.
