Mission Statement

Solomon's Island Rabbit Refuge, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides sanctuary to companion rabbits. We attempt to place bunnies in quality indoor homes where they can spend joyful and comfortable lives with an adoptive family. Rabbits for whom we cannot find new homes or whom we deem not adoptable due to medical or behavioral conditions or advanced age are welcome to spend the duration of their lives at the sanctuary. During their stay at the sanctuary, bunnies live in a clean and comfortable indoor environment with a nutritious diet, plenty of fresh water, any necessary medical care, and adoring attention. Solomon's Island Rabbit Refuge also educates the public about the care of and life with an indoor companion rabbit.

Description

Solomon's Island Rabbit Refuge, Inc., is a small rescue that takes in rabbits from animal shelters and tries to place them in adoptive homes. Rabbits live either at the shelter or in foster homes. Some of the bunnies have medical or behavioral problems and spend their lives at the refuge. We participate in adoption events and conduct home visits with prospective adopters. We are also initiating a fundraising program in order to support the costs of operating the shelter. We own a website. We also educate the public about the care of and life with a companion rabbit.
