Children of Promise seeks to break the cycle of incarceration in families through relationships and community support. We hope to achieve this by creating mentoring relationships between at-risk kids and caring adults, engaging at-risk children in educational and enrichment opportunities, and providing the community ways to participate in this intervention.
Children of Promise, a faith-based non-profit, serves kids of incarcerated parents by matching caring adults to mentor kids that have one or both parents in jail or prison. Children of Promise also focuses on enrichment by teaming with other community organizations to provide opportunities for lessons in art and music. Finally, this organization seeks to build community in the lives of these children and their families in order to alleviate the impact of incarceration on the lives of these vulnerable children.
