Our mission is to provide Hope, Help and Support to the citizens of Georgia who have sustained or have been affected by brain injury
A Pedestrian struck by a car, a 37 year old stroke victim, a car accident resulting in a severe head injury, a severe concussion received during a football game, a near drowning from a pool, a fall off a ladder or porch...
Every week our core program - Information Resource Program - handles a dozen calls with stories like these. Family members call seeking help or just a sympathetic listener. Survivors of a brain injury call years after an accident, wondering why they are still having so much trouble handling life’s daily needs.
Our Information and Resource Program is directed by a Certified Brain Injury Specialist who provides a brain injury individual or family member an opportunity to discuss their specific needs and situation with someone who is familiar with the challenges they face. They will provide or direct them to:
Education about brain injury, symptoms and coping strategies.
Resources customized to the individual need such as a service provider, short/long term care, transportation, housing, professional or financial assistance among other resource needs.
Support Groups statewide - a support system of peer and peer mentors where a suvivor or their loved one can discuss the challenges they face.
Camp Program, the only fun and therapeutic camp for adults with brain injury with respite camp for their loved one being held at the same time.
