Description

The Texas Round-Up's programs are all directly related to encouraging Texans to make the right choices to live healthy lives, combat habits that lead to obesity and obesity related health problems, and improve the general state of public health in Texas. The Texas Round-Up offers all Texans a free, online activity training program with which they can keep track of their exercise throughout the year, as well as find information and resources related to training plans, nutrition, and other health and wellness issues. Those who complete the free program, are able to download a certificate signed by Governor Rick Perry. Texas Round-Up Affiliate Cities will also promote their own fitness events across the state. The Activity Tracking Program, Affiliate Cities, and other program information can be found at the Texas Round-Up website, www.texasroundup.org. Additionally, the Texas Round-Up conducts a 10K, 5K, and Family Mile run/walk event each spring in Austin, Texas to provide a goal for all program participants as well as a festival environment for people to come together and celebrate their commitment to fitness. The 5th Annual Texas Round-Up Fitness Festival will be held in Austin, Texas on April 26, 2008.
