Mercy Education, a unique education ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, exists to build healthy communities by providing affordable educational support, counseling and other services necessary to empower individuals to reach their full potential. In support of this ministry, Mercy Education works together with many organizations and agencies to promote systemic change especially for those who are economically, educationally or socially disadvantaged.
Mercy Education, a nonprofit organization, fills a vital gap in our community by providing educational support to teachers, counselors and families. Established in 1992 by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Education, while offering services to all in need, is especially dedicated to furthering the growth and well being of those who are emotionally distressed and educationally disadvantaged due to learning disabilities, familial or societal circumstances, or other factors which place them at risk in learning environments. Mercy Education is unique in its holistic approach; it is the only center of its kind in Northern California, and services are offered on a sliding fee scale to those in need, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or religion.
