Mission Statement

The mission of Habitat for Humanity Anchorage is to eliminate substandard housing in Anchorage and to make affordable housing a matter of conscience and action.

Description

The Habitat for Humanity Anchorage ReStore was established in late 2004 as a non-profit business operated by HFHA. It collects and sells used and new (but unwanted) building materials, appliances, hardware and fixtures at deeply discounted prices to the general public. In this way, it benefits:

1. low-income families that are in need of affordable and safe housing by providing a source of funding for the growth of HFHA;

2. the Anchorage community by reducing solid waste through reuse (over 1,200,000 pounds of materials thus far);

3. customers by selling at very low cost.
