Mission Statement
The Homeless Cat Porject is an all volunteer committee of New England Animal Action, Inc. HCP is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization and is approved by the MA Dept. of Agriculture. The mission of the Homeless Cat Project (HCP), completely staffed by volunteers, is to reduce the number of free-roaming cats by establishing colonies of spayed/neutered, vaccinated felines in appropriate settings. Volunteers frequently discover very friendly cats who were apparently abandoned. These cats are placed in HCP's limited foster care program until loving, permanent homes can be found. All adoptable HCP cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, checked for worms, fleas and mites, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and evaluated for temperament prior to placement. Fostering expenses are paid for by volunteers.
