Mission Statement

Mission: Coalition for Pets empowers local stakeholders to develop and grow mobile spay and neuter programs in unserved communities, with the objective of mitigating animal suffering resulting from overpopulation.

Vision: Our vision is that cruelty to animals born into homelessness will not plague our future generations.

Description

Founded in 1999, Coalition for Pets is the pioneer mobile hospital spay and neuter animal welfare organization in California that exists to ameliorate the homeless animal overpopulation and consequently the destruction of highly adoptable animals. The Coalition works to provide mobile clinic facilities, medical equipment, program support and knowledge base on development and operation of high volume mobile spay and neuter programs in the identified high risk communities, where problems of animal overpopulation and high euthanasia rates remain unaddressed. Our approach it to establish a sustainable community service model, where the Coalition serves a catalyst to bring together local actors in the communities affected by the problem, interested government actors, private sector and public support to carry out the mobile spay and neuter programs in perpetuity through joint efforts. This year, we are slated to reach our milestone of 100,000 critical spay and neuter surgeries provided to the neediest pet owners in Southern California.
