Either position OR a combination of both positions: 1) Client Check-In -Treat clients with kindness and respect. -Assist Barnabas staff in collecting client and household information per the log sheet. -Provide information to clients about Barnabas services. -Communicate the appropriate amount of food for each car to the food handling team. 2) Food Prep/Handling -Assist Barnabas staff in organizing and bagging delivered food items. -Greet clients and place food in their cars. -Ensure the line of cars flows smoothly and efficiently. -Keeps food stations stocked during distribution. -Assist in cleaning up food boxes, bags and other items to be discarded.

Barnabas' New to You Resale Store is seeking motivated volunteers to help our neighbors in Nassau County thrive. All store proceeds help fund the programs offered at Barnabas, so each New to You volunteer also works to fulfill the mission of our food, medical/dental and crisis assistance programs. We are looking for several volunteers to join our team at New to You in the following positions: Arts & Books Associate Clothing Associate Décor Associate Dock Associate Electronics Associate Sales Floor Associate Volunteers are typically scheduled in shifts from either 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday. Whether you are interested in once a week, or once a month, we'd love to hear from you! We can also accommodate groups up to 10 volunteers at a time. We believe every individual has an opportunity to lead a healthy and productive life, thereby strengthening our entire community. We currently serve the needs of our community through food programs, crisis assistance, medical, dental and mental health services, and a resale store.
