Mission Statement

The mission of Dismas is to provide quality, cost-effective community-based supervision and treatment services to individuals within the criminal justice system. Healing the Human Spirit is the energy source behind Dismas' commitment to community-based corrections. Dismas Charities values the dignity of all individuals and that, as such; we believe all individuals are entitled to be treated with respect and compassion.

Description

Dismas involves families, faith-based institutions, employers, experienced staff, volunteers and other service organizations to create a structure and environment which supports succesful re-intergration. Dismas' programs are cost-effective. Community-based supervision costs taxpayers less then prison and jail confinements. In addition, community-based supervision allows offenders to work full time and pay child support, taxes, fines and restitution or to provide valued community service work
