Mission Statement

This program addresses the needs of adults who want to learn to read or improve in basic reading, writing and mathematics skills. Trained volunteer tutors provide individualized basic skills instruction for students at local libraries, community centers, churches, and the college.

Description

Our volunteers complete an 18 hour training program. They are then placed with a student who can meet at the same time and place as the tutor. Our tutors and students meet once a week for 2 hours. Tutors may choose to work with an individual student, a small group, or as a classroom aide.
