Mission Statement

The Soup Train is a program with the Coalition for the Homeless in Nassau County that helps home bound seniors maintain their independence by providing nutritious meals.

Description

In partnership with the Barnabas Center and Council on Aging, the Soup Train feeds homebound seniors who are eligible for subsidized Meals on Wheels, but are unable to be served due to lack of funding. Currently, 12 teams prepare meals of soup, bread adnd dessert that are delivered to 40 homebound seniors every week.

Helping people with the gift of nutritious food is a wonderful way to volunteer. No one should go hungry, especially seniors.
