Mission Statement
PAX- Program of Academic Exchange is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to increase mutual respect among the people of the world, to foster an appreciation of our differences and similarities, and to enhance our ability to communicate with one another. PAX believes that this mission is served by providing young people with the opportunity to study abroad and live with a host family for an extended period of time.
Description
Students participating in the PAX School Year USA program represent forty different countries. They are between the ages of 15-18 and have several hobbies and interests including sports, music, the arts, and are especially eager to learn about American culture and society. They must go through an intensive selection process and are required to submit an application, letters of reference, an essay; conduct in-person interviews and pass an English language test.
We currently have agreements with several Indianapolis area high schools who are eager to host international students. In order for these placements to occur and for these students to be given the opportunity to experience American culture and society, we must find individuals and families that are willing to host them in their home for the academic year.
If your family is curious about other cultures, has a special affection for teenagers and would enjoy an international experience in your own home, email us to host student.
