Ky Rails to Trails Council mission is to promote and advocate for the establishment and use of rail trails and associated greenways in Kentucky.

Description

Kentucky Rails to Trails Council (KRTC) is an all volunteer organization that serves the entire state. KRTC was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization in 1995. KRTC has 200-300 dues paying members and sends out a quarterly newsletter to 1600 supporters of railtrails and greenways. Dues are for a calendar year. The Council provides educational programs on rail trails, supports and assists local community groups starting rail trails and greenways and maintains an informative website. KRTC holds a biennial educational conference. On June 9 th, 2007 KRTC will again sponsor a cycling relay along the old CSX corridor between Lexington and Ashland to promote its use as a railtrail.
