The Rio Grande Food Project provides emergency food relief to hungry individuals and families throughout the Albuquerque metro area. The Food Project serves the most vulnerable in the community by providing the entire household a week's worth of food once every ninety days.

Description

The Rio Grande Food Project provides emergency food to the most vulnerable in the Albuquerque metro area. The agency is open Mon, Wed, Fri from 10-2 and the 3rd Sat from 9-1. Food boxes are distributed according the number of persons in the household and include commodities, fresh produce/bread, dry, canned and frozen food. Food is purchased from Roadrunner Food Bank and local stores or donated by churches. Clients are referred by the Dept. of Human Services, churches, caseworkers, health care representatives, homeless/domestic violence shelter staff, school counselors and other helping agencies.
