Changing what it means to be blind through effective programs of training, advocacy and public eduation about blindness.

Description

BLIND Inc. is an adjustment to blindness training center that teaches blind children, youth, adults, non-English speaking immigrants, and seniors the skills, self-confidence, and attitudes they need to succeed in education, live independently, work competitively, and be fully integrated into the community. Students learn cane travel, integrated Braille and computers, home and personal management, industrial arts and home repair, and career exploration and preparation. 85% of BLIND, Inc. adult program graduates go into competitive employment, or into higher education and from there to competitive employment.
