Mission Statement
Water Advocates' mission is to advocate on behalf of those people who lack safe water--specifically at least 5 gallons per person per day--and basic sanitation.
Description
Water Advocates is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing American support for worldwide access to safe, affordable and sustainable supplies of drinking water and adequate sanitation. Water Advocates' chief goal is to increase U.S. public and private funding for efficient drinking-water and sanitation systems internationally, particularly those projects characterized by strong community involvement and hygiene training. "Increase" means setting out to triple by 2010 the level of funding by the U.S. government and by private U.S. sources (civic organizations, faith communities, businesses and foundations).
