Mission Statement

IFFBoston strives to showcase our community and create an accessibility to films made outside the Hollywood studio system for our region. The Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston) shows films that people might not get a chance to see anywhere else, films that are both innovative and crowd-pleasing. It offers the chance to meet the filmmakers at post-screening parties, and to ask them questions both after the films and at festival panels. IFFBoston is a diverse mix of features, documentaries, and shorts with ticket prices lower than what it costs to see most first-run movies.

Description

The Independent Film Festival of Boston is celebrating its 5th Anniversary (April 25-30th) and we would love for you to help us make this celebration a huge success! If you're interested in supporting independent film, hanging out with some great filmmakers, munching on potato chips, watching free movies - and oh yeah, volunteering (yeah the work part) - then we'd love for you to volunteer. In 2006 we had over 75 films, 126 screenings, multiple filmmaker panels, conversations with Chris Cooper and Lil Taylor.. all this in 5 days! IFFBoston is the largest film festival in New England and have about 150 volunteers participate each year. IFFBoston is a relaxed environment that is run by a group of hardcore film enthusiasts - we're laid back but incredibly hard working and looking for fans of film to help continue making this possible. In 2007 we will be showing films at The Somerville Theatre, The Coolidge Corner Theatre and The Brattle over 6 indie packed days. Please visit our website for more information. While there, fill out our volunteer application: http://iffboston.org/involved/volunteers.php
