Mission Statement

As a non-profit pharmaceutical company, we do three things:
1. we produce great pharmaceutical products that are needed and wanted by providers and women
2. we ensure that all women can get our products, especially poor women
3. we are financially viable and independent, by employing a social enterprise business model

We address public health challenges by developing safe, high quality products for women’s health. We are currently developing a hormonal IUD because the reproductive health community has demanded a high quality/lower cost option to this great contraceptive. We started this company to change the way that women’s and providers’ pharmaceutical needs are met. We’re weaving together some radical ideas -- compassion, creative thinking, and community -- and leveraging them to heal what’s broken in our health system. Defined as product availability, affordability, and awareness, ensuring unencumbered access to our products is why we exist. It is not enough to simply develop products; the true charge is to maximize access. Our vehicle for sustained and cross-sectoral impact is to commercialize our products through the private sector and then use profits to subsidize product costs in the public sector. We control public sector access to our products - we do not leave it to traditional pharma to realize our vision of social justice. This represents a critical new way of doing business: achieving purpose through profits.
