Description
History
Established in 1997 by a mother and her daughter, Teens In Public Service provides Seattle area teenagers with an opportunity to work in charitable organizations while providing a dependable workforce to non-profit organizations at no cost to the organizations. With just 11 interns working in 7 organizations in its first year, TIPS has expanded to include 60 teen interns selected to serve the community in over 40 non-profits during the summer months. By educating teens concerning the needs in their community during their formative years of 15-19, Teens In Public Service enhances youth development when they are establishing their values and beliefs. This program creates future leaders looking to serve their community. To learn more about TIPS visit www.teensinpublicservice.org
