Mission Statement

Brown Girl Wellness, Incorporated (BGW) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that strives to empower disadvantaged women and children in rural communities. BGW was created to address health, economic, and education disparities among women and children. Our primary goal is to serve minority women and children from socially disadvantaged communities. Brown Girl Wellness, an interfaith, community-based organization, provides human services, education seminars, art workshops, and human rights advocacy for women and children who are homeless and/or live in rural communities. Our holistic approach to wellness will encompass serving the whole person by addressing the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of each family. We will extend our services to clients in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, and surrounding states.
