Mission Statement

A Friend's House is an organization whose goal is to bring about positive social change to persons
impacted by domestic violence.
To accomplish this, A Friend's House has three objectives: To increase public awareness and understanding of domestic violence, provide safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children when no other options exist, and to provide support for victims in order to help them regain control over their lives.

Description

Maintains 24-hour crisis hotline; helps victims of domestic violence become self-reliant by offering: 1) medical, legal and social service referrals; 2) immediate emergency shelter and assistance with locating permanent housing; 3) community group counseling and on-site Life Skills Mentoring; and helping with such transitional needs as food, clothing and transportation. Community donations are largely responsible for the material needs of clients.

Clients normally stay at the shelter for one month and are responsible for establishing and executing individual goals that will lay a foundation for future personal independence.

These people are despicable and I would not recommend ONE woman to go there for help. The women who work there are hateful, spiteful and I know they had a woman and a child thrown onto the street in the middle of the night because of pure jealousy. This is supposed to be an organization that helps women? This is an organization that needs to be investigated for human rights violations. They are despicable.
