Mission Statement

Said organization is organized exclusively for charitable purposes including, the making of distributions to individuals citizens of Waveland, Mississippi, and all citizens of Hancock County, Mississippi who reside south of I-10, to assist in the rebuilding of their lives after Hurricane Katrina and/or the furtherance of their ability to progress and improve their economic and social existence through further education, including but not limited to the basic needs of daily living, the repair of homes, the purchase of medical assistance or the need for transportation.

Description

The Waveland Citizens Fund is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization. The fund was established as a result of generous people from around the world and local citizens contributing to assist Waveland citizens in December 2005. Since then the fund has received numerous donations to help in emergency situations.

Our main focus now is to apply for and receive grants to rebuild homes. Working with long term recovery centers, we provide the accounting and financial services needed and they provide the case management, supervision of materials and laobor and daily contact with our citizens.

Our greatest need is skilled labor volunteers who can supervise some phase of constructioin for any amount of time. We have unskilled volunteers who need instruction and supervision.
