Mission Statement

Our mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact.

Description

Founded in Houston in 1952, BBBS has been helping children between the ages of 6 and 15 by matching them with dependable, adult mentors.Matches are made based on similar interest and personality, driving distance of 30 mins or less, and meeting the parents and volunteers preferences.

In as little as 4 hours a month, a caring adult can make a difference in the life of a child.

BBBS offers three types of programs:

Community Based: picking up your Little 2 times per month and doing activities together (making crafts, shooting hoops, seeing a movie, etc). 1 year commitment

School Based: Meeting a child at their school for one hour per week to work on homework for thirty minutes and playing board games or sports for the last thirty minutes. 1 year commitment

School Based Plus: Meeting a child at their school for one hour per week to work on homework for thirty minutes and playing board games or sports for the last thirty minutes but also being able to take your Little out on special weekend occasions. 1 year commitment
