Operation Paperback provides free reading materials to service members and their families who are stationed or deployed overseas.

Description

Operation Paperback began in 1999 when family and friends of Chief Master Sergeant Rick Honeywell sent care packages filled with books when he was deployed to Kuwait. Over 7,000 individuals, businesses and community organizations are part of the Operation Paperback network that collects and directly ships books to servicemembers and their families overseas. Operation Paperback serves over 35 locations around the globe, as well as military hospitals, USO facilities and veterans care centers. Volunteers have shipped over a million books over the past ten years.
