Mission Statement

The Inner-City Scholarship Fund (ICSF) Professionals' Team provides volunteer opportunities for business professionals to get involved in the efforts of The Catholic Schools Foundation. The fundamental purpose of the ICSF Professionals' Team is to enrich the educational experience of Catholic school students by bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace. ICSF Professionals' Team members demonstrate to the students how a solid education can positively influence their future careers.

Description

The Inner-City Scholarship Fund Professionals' Team focuses its volunteer activities in three core areas. These include the Industry Tours, Speakers' Bureau and Tutoring programs, all of which reach out to at-risk elementary and high school students in the greater Boston area.

The Industry Tours program gives students the chance to visit local businesses and learn first hand about the many different career opportunities that await them. On the flip side, the Speakers' Bureau program brings professionals to the schools for an in-house career day experience. Speakers share insight into their jobs, their educational paths, and give advice and encouragement for working hard in pursuit of one's goals. And if your gift is teaching (or occassionally re-learning) school subjects you never thought you'd revisit, tutoring on a Saturday at an inner-city elementary school may be a great fit as a third volunteer option.
