Mission Statement

Vision Statement

To eliminate the suffering of abused children in Chicago.

Mission Statement

To unite the strengths of public, private and community partners to ensure the safety, health and well-being of abused children.

Description

The Chicago Children's Advocacy Center serves 3,000 sexually abused children per year. Founded in 1998, the CCAC unites public, private and community partners to ensure the safety, health and well being of abused children. Prior to the Center opening, sexually abused children would often have to tell their story up to 14 different times to various childcare workers, police, doctors and more. Besides being incredibly traumatic for the children, this process also was detrimental to the investigation and prosecution of offenders. Today, the CCAC houses these professionals under one roof, so abused children only have one place they have to go to get through the system. They tell their stories only one time, and receive help within days, not months.
