Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
PSST provides tutoring and coaching programs that encourage Healdsburg public school students to continue their education through and beyond high school. Our efforts are staffed and supported by community volunteers and donors.
Make a difference in a child's life....make a bigger difference in your own!
Founded in 2009, PSST now has over 12 volunteers who spend over an hour per week with more than 38 PSST students in grades seven and eight working on English and Math skills and preparing them for high school and beyond. Tutor coordinators carefully monitor progress within each grade level, matching tutors and students and offering special help when needed.
Another 20 volunteers work as PSST coaches who meet regularly with 9th thru 12th grade PSST high school students. While some coaches provide tutoring, all act as mentors, guiding students as well as developing and maintaining persoanl relationships. Coaches monitor progress, help keep grades up and connect students with any needed school or community service.
Jeff Harding, former Superintendent of Healdsburg Unified School District, paid PSST the highest compliment when he said, "The PSST team is a model for other communities to emulate. Thank you for your contribution to the success of our students."
