Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Second Chance Pet Network provides a safe haven for surrendered and abandoned animals, pending their adoption into loving, forever homes.
To help control the pet population in Dryden and surrounding area through spaying and neutering and to have all pets adopted into loving, forever homes.
We are a not for profit organization that relies on the generous donations from the citizens of Dryden and surrounding area. Donations are graciously accepted with charitable receipts provided for all cash donations of $20 and over. Second Chance Pet Network is a registered charity, #85116 7858 RR0001.
To help with the cost of shelter, food and litter, we run a flea market at the shelter site. We accept donations of gently used items but ask that there be no clothing donated. All items are available for a monetary donation - we only require that the donation amount be reasonable in relation to the value of the items received.
We also manage the feral cat colonies at Dryden’s Hwy 502 and Barclay Landfill sites, as well as the landfill site in Sioux Lookout, through a T-N-R program (trap-neuter-return). We accept donations of cat/dog food, Canadian Tire money or Extra Foods superbucks for the Food for Pets program for Dryden’s Food Bank. Recently, a low cost spay/neuter program has been put in place. A Kidz Klub is also available for children to participate in.
New members and volunteers welcome. We are currently in need of foster homes so we can start giving dogs a second chance as well. We accept volunteers of all ages. To foster an animal or to become a Friend of Second Chance Pet Network, please download and fill out our SCPN Friends Application & Waiver (pdf).
We ask friends and friends of friends, to help create and expand the shelter by purchasing a brick for $25.
With the help of the Pepsi challenge wee have built a permanent shelter to service Dryden, Sioux Lookout and the surrounding areas, but finishing it and building other buildings are pressing needs. We ask people to please donate to our Build-a-Shelter, Brick-by-Brick campaign, to sponsor animals in our care, to support our fundraisers by working on them, or by donating to them, to foster animals who need a proper home in spite of having been rescued, to better develop into the awesome pets they can be, and to elicit others in the helping to continue the work that is so desperately needed in the area in rescuing, sheltering and supporting animals in finding their forever homes.
