Mission Statement

The African Dream Initiative gives promising but disadvantaged children the resources to become Africa’s future leaders. We provide quality education and help them build the skills they need to make their communities places where dreams can come true.

Description

At the African Dream Initiative, we recruit the brightest students from some of the most challenging situations in East Africa, provide them with counseling and a support structure, and place them in the most competitive schools in Uganda.

We provide our students - AIDS orphans, former child soldiers, abducted girls, street kids, refugees, child laborers, and other students - with a support structure, leadership training, and a quality education at the most competitive private schools in Uganda. We partner with local psychologists and social workers to offer counseling and medical care to ensure that our students can focus on school. ADI also provides mentorship and the support of a family - our staff is local and understands the everyday struggles our children face.

As a result of the resources and support that we give our students, they are not just provided for - they are empowered to provide for themselves and for others. And that’s what ADI is focused on: promoting a cycle of success in Africa by training our students to be leaders with the desire and ability to give back to their communities.
