Mission Statement

The goal of Food $ense is to improve the nutritional value of low-income participant's diets through nutrition and wellness education, cooking demonstrations, and gardening.

Description

Food $ense serves food stamp eligible recipients living in King County including: low income housing communities, seniors and schools that have 50% or more children receiving free or reduced school lunches.

Food $ense is currently teaching a garden & cooking-enhanced nutrition curriculum in ten housing communities, in collaboration with five community organizations and in 12 schools (approximately 85 classrooms).
