Tip of Texas Family Outreach Vision Statement: Building a stronger community one family at a time.
Being a parent ins't easy. Sometimes parents need help to feel good about themselves and their relationship with their children. Many parents have someone to turn to for help when they need to talk, but many do not. Our agency is here to help.
The primary goal of Tip of Texas Family Outreach is to prevent child abuse and neglect. To achieve this, our agency offers:
Parenting Classes conducted in a group type setting. Important issues such as communication, discipline, time out etc. are discussed to help parents enhance their parenting skills.
Casework services - in this program a caseworker conducts home visits to meet with families who are experiencing difficulties with their childrens behavior. Caseworkers will assess the presenting problem and establish a plan of service which will address individual goals that are essential to the success of each case.
The My Baby & Me program has an instructor that will conduct home visits for first time moms who need to learn basic infant care. In this program, topics such as SIDS, shaken baby syndrome, home safety, carseat safety etc. are also discussed to help first time parents understand about other dangers that infants face.
