Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Through an all volunteer effort, provide an excellent and affordable theater experience to Stow and surrounding communities.
Stow Players, Inc. was chartered as a non-profit corporation with the State of Ohio on May 11, 1954. During the last 60 years, this volunteer organization provided theatrical productions initially at the Stow Town Hall and then, starting in 1982, at the Heritage Barn in Stow Silver Springs Park. Stow Players has a cooperative arrangement with the Stow Parks and Recreation Department by paying rent to the City of Stow for the use of the Heritage Barn for 4 months out of the year. We do not have any paid staff, however directors are given a small remuneration - consistent with other community theaters - as compensation for directing a show. All other work: set construction, building maintenance, actors, backstage work, costumes, lighting, etc. are provided without compensation by volunteers. Membership in Stow Players is voluntary with a nominal fee of $10. There are nine volunteer members on the Board of Trustees who are responsible for choosing the shows to be produced, setting the goals of the theater, and making sure that finances are handled. In March of every year, new members of the Board are chosen for a three year term at the Every Member Meeting. In April the new officers are chosen at the first Board meeting. In May, Members and Volunteers gather to celebrate the end of the Season -and learn of the next season - at the Curtain Call Party.
