Mission Statement

Keith Carson was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1992, on a platform dedicated to inclusive and accessible government. He represents the 5th district which includes: Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont and large portions of Oakland, namely West Oakland, North Oakland (Rockridge and Montclair), Fruitvale and San Antonio districts. He seeks to bring together the wealth of talent and creative resources that exist in this area to find solutions to the problems of access to health care, poverty, homelessness, crime, business retention, and scarcity of jobs in our community.

Keith was elected Board President in January 2005 and will serve in that capacity until 2007. Supervisor Carson is also Chair of the Alameda County East Bay Economic Development Alliance (EBEDA) and is a member of the Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association. Supervisor Carson also is a member of the Executive Committee for the California State Association of counties (CSAC) - a 58 county statewide supervisors organization, a Member of the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority and a member of the Alameda County Waste Management Authority.

Keith serves as Chair of the Finance Committee for the Bay Area World Trade Center (BAWTC) and Vice-Chairman of the Bay Area Economic Forum.
