Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The ECYS mission is two-fold: • To help our young musicians develop their artistic voices, critical and creative thinking skills, and sense of self-efficacy, as they learn, rehearse, and perform engaging and challenging works of music; • To produce quality performance opportunities for our musicians, while presenting outstanding musical events for the community.
ECYS educates more than 480 K-12 students per year, who hail from over 100 schools within the geographic area that we serve. Our comprehensive music education and performance program offers six levels of ensembles to accommodate beginning, intermediate, and advanced music students. Key accomplishments over our 55-year history include:
* Providing exemplary music education and outreach programs for a diverse community of young musicians and audiences;
* Fostering relationships between youth and recognized artists who mentor technique, model goal-setting and persistence, and cultivate our students’ artistic expression;
* Developing new resources, programs, and partnerships to engage the community in cultural collaborations that create fresh perspectives and contexts for classical repertoire, and celebrate the uniting force of music across cultural boundaries;
* Encouraging holistic growth, while enabling youth musicians to develop their sense of self-efficacy, as individuals and as an ensemble, through learning, practicing, and collaborating in the performance of compelling repertoire.
Our staff and faculty members feel strongly that music education is vital to students' holistic health and growth.
