Mission Statement

Green Lents is an all-volunteer run non-profit with a mission to provide education, volunteer and leadership opportunities in and around the Lents neighborhood to promote a thriving, sustainable community.

Description

Green Lents serves the Lents and surrounding neighborhoods in the Foster Road area in Portland. We work in a teams of dedicated volunteers to accomplish the following:

  • Watershed health through native plantings, pollinator habitat enhancement, and cleanups of Johnson Creek and surrounding areas;
  • Operate the Community Tool Library, a free tool and resource sharing program with home, garden, and other tools for loan, Do-It-Yourself workshops, and other local resources like books and seeds;
  • Malden Court Community Orchard - working with local neighbors to plant a multi-canopy, sustainable, orchard in the Lents neighborhood;
  • Livable Lents - an outreach and engagement initiative that seeks to achieve sustainability through building community and connecting residents to each other and resources in their community.
