The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Texas Filmmakers supports the regional film and video communities by providing access to education, experience, equipment, exhibition, and other essential production resources.
Texas Filmmakers was created in February of 2004 to meet the needs of the growing film and video community in Denton, TX. In the city of Denton alone, there are thousands of people interested in various aspects of film and video production; whether its camera work, set design, choreography, costume design, sound design, etc. Since then, our vision has expanded to include all the regional film & video communities throughout Texas. The goal is to facilitate networking among people with varying skill sets in order to create a more collaborative environment in Texas.
Texas Filmmakers is a 501(c)(3) public charity. We are a grassroots movement made up of people who think artists throughout our communities should have access to the tools needed to succeed. We are run by 100% volunteers and we raise our annual budget by working nearly 2500 volunteer hours every summer at various fundraisers across North Texas.
Our next step as an organization is Texas' only all-documentary film fetival, the Thin Line Film Festival.
