Mission Statement
Fur and Feather Animal Assistance, Inc. is a large 90 acre Domestic Animal Sanctuary in the West Central Mtns of New Mexico. Our average population is between 70-90 dogs and about 100 cats. The animals come here to live forever unless they are lucky enough to get adopted. Our Mission is to save lives, spay and neuter everything that walks through the door, and help our County here in New Mexico to reduce domestic animal populations.
Description
We work on rehabilitating dogs that come from difficult situations, and we also take in abandoned and unwanted dogs, pets from homes where a person has become ill, and sometimes simply because it is the right thing to do. Our dogs are not kenneled and we focus on lots of exercise and good food to keep them healthy, physically and mentally. Some of the cats live in a large cattery and the others are in and out of the house and many outbuildings where they can stay safe from predators.
We have a wonderful environment for both people and animals, pretty moderate weather most of the time and a very successful program.
