Mission Statement

The Benton County Volunteer Program seeks to enhance the quality of life for the people of Benton County with emphasis on the economically disadvantaged and senior citizens of our county.

Description

BCVP Program Areas Include:

  • Medical Transportation Assistance for seniors who cannot drive, do not have available drivers or cannot afford transportation.
  • SHARE Iowa food distribution provides quality, nutritious food at a reduced cost through a volunteer-assisted, community-based distribution system.
  • Outreach Human Services: i.e. support for cancer patients, local schools, military, care facilities, and the less privileged. Holiday and Summer Food Baskets, Tree of Sharing, and preventative senior health screening are some featured projects.
  • Volunteer Engagement - opportunities for volunteers to share their expertise.

Program Objectives

Increase nutrition and health services resulting in decreased client health risks.

Increase access to services that help improve client safety and mobility.

Decrease social isolation and increase sense of worth for clients and volunteers alike.
