Mission Statement
Gansler for Maryland is looking for individuals interested in learning about, engaging in, and making a difference in the civic process. This is a great way to help Maryland elect a pragmatic, results-oriented Governor, and do some civic good in your community. Doug Gansler is the current Maryland Attorney General and a former President of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). Prior to becoming Attorney General he was Montgomery County State’s Attorney - most well known for his prosecution of the beltway sniper. Called a rising star of the National Democratic Party, Doug Gansler chaired President Obama’s campaign in Maryland in 2008 and was the first statewide elected official to support and champion marriage equality. Since taking office in 2006, Attorney General Gansler has distinguished himself by prosecuting polluters of the Chesapeake Bay, protecting consumers from various forms of fraud, and safeguarding the public from gangs, violent crime, and the underbelly of the Internet.
