Mission Statement

Cook for Your LIFE's mission is to translate the nutrition and diet guidelines associated with cancer treatment and prevention into easy, delicious meals and give patients the practical tools and confidence to cook these dishes from scratch at home. We teach healthy cooking to people touched by cancer.

Description

We offer free hands on cooking classes and interactive cooking demos n the NYC area to patients from local hospital cancer centers and cancer support organizations.

Our classes brought us to the attention of researchers at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health. We have been co-authors with them on two randomized studies, one NIH funded. The resulting data has shown that our teaching methods really can change eating behaviors long term.

In Spring 2012 we extended our reach nationally with the launch of our subscription free cooking website. It features recipes, cooking videos and the latest nutrition info. We have had over 270K unique visitors in the past year and at the rate we are growing, 11% a month on average, we should reach over 1/2 a million unique visitors this year.
