Description

Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) began in 1976 as a non-profit group home for teenage girls in Denver. AHFY soon grew to meet the needs of a complex and diverse teenage population, developing many programs and services across Colorado, ranging from outpatient day treatment to intensive residential mental health care to Emancipation services. As time progressed, however, the vastly changing needs of the Colorado community altered the path of Alternative Homes for Youth. AHFY now concentrates its energies in Weld County, preventing future victims of violence and teaching Colorado families how to be safe and healthy, functional members of the community. Staff and residents work as a team to build self-esteem, positive attitudes, trusting relationships and responsible decision-making. Ultimately, AHFY is a violence and victim prevention program.
AHFY is a member in good standing with the Denver Better Business Bureau and has earned the distinction of membership in the BBB Wise Giving Program. Please learn more about us at www.ahfy.org.
