Mission Statement

T he Mid Puget Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that works with communities to maximize self-sustaining salmon populations. In King and Eastern Kitsap Counties, we work cooperatively with private landowners, agencies, tribes and others to identify, design and implement projects that improve salmon habitat.

Description

Mid Sound works cooperatively with local landowners to identify, design, and implement projects that address salmon health. While there are regulatory agencies protecting sensitive areas, our group offers a restoration alternative that meets the needs of the landowners and of the salmon.

Our restoration projects can range from earth-moving construction to streamside plantings. We also monitor projects to improve our restoration techniques and to determine maintenance needs. Finally, we incorporate education and hands-on learning into all of our activities in order to build a region of knowledgeable salmon stewards.
