Mission Statement

It is the mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children to:

  • Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and certain other special health care needs within a compassionate, family centered and collaborative care environment.
  • Provide for the education of physicians and other health care professionals.
  • Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families.

This mission is carried out without cost to the patient or family, and without regard to race, color, creed, sex or sect.

Description

Volunteers fill necessary roles here at Shriners Hospital and some departments could not function without them. We ask all of our volunteers to commit at least 60 hours of service usually over a 3-4 month period of time. Most opportunities are limited to 1 day a week, but additional days can be worked out between the volunteer and the department supervisor.

This is an organization that helps children and their family's who could not otherwise get help. It is available to all children who are in need of special care even if you can't pay. It is created out of pure love for human life.
