Mission Statement
The American Nurses Foundation is on a mission to transform the nation's health through the power of nursing.
Description
Founded in 1955 as the research, education, and charitable affiliate of the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Foundation complements the work of ANA, the largest professional nursing organization in America, by raising funds and developing and managing grants and programs that support advances in research, education, and clinical practice. Foundation programs benefit the nation’s 3.1 million registered nurses, and those they serve, wherever nurses practice.
Why nurses? One out of every 100 people in America is a nurse. With 3.1 million nurses throughout the country, these women and men have the broadest reach and are often the first health care provider, making them uniquely positioned to make a difference in health care. We are at a critical moment in the history of US healthcare, and believe nurses critical to improving the health of the nation.
