Mission Statement

The Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO) is a non profit center for children with motor disabilities, like cerebral palsy.

At CECO we work to enhance the independence of children with motor disabilities through conductive education.

Description

Conductive education an intensive, multi-disciplinary approach to education for children motor challenges. Developed in 1945 Hungary by Dr. Andras Peto, conductive education is based on the theory that the central nervous system has the capacity to form new neural connections, despite neurological damage. By repeating tasks and integrating intentional movement with learning, the brain creates alternate paths to send messages to muscle groups, creating the desired movements. This process allows a child to gain movement and skills that allow them to accomplish more tasks independently.
