All youth thrive and contribute to the success of their community
Youth N.O.W. is committed to engaging youth in a nurturing community where they succeed personally and academically through participation in individualized programs which cultivate critical life skills.
Youth N.O.W. is an After School Student Center that provides no-cost tutoring and academic support, as well as, a safe social environment for middle and high school students in the downtown Watsonville area. We have been dedicated to the personal and academic success of all youth since 2010.
WHAT WE DO:
Youth N.O.W. is comprised of two separate program sites, one for high school students located on Carr Street and one for middle school students located on Madison Street. Each site has both a learning center space and a recreational social space. Our learning centers offer individualized contracted tutoring, homework help, independent study, school project resources, computer labs, and printing services. Youth N.O.W.’s social and recreational spaces are comprised of our high school 'coffee house’ and the middle school gym. These sites serve as spaces for activities such as enrichment classes, clubs, sports clinics and evening social events. During the summer, we offer a five-week all-day program reflective of our school-year programming. No-cost food is offered at both sites thanks to our community partners.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Get involved by volunteering to be an academic tutor, and instructor of an enrichment class or workshop, adminstrative support, a social events volunteer, or a postitive influence during social and recreational programming. All of our programs are made possible with the help of volunteers like YOU!
